Exercise Alternatives

With so many choices out there, you are bound to find some exercise alternative to suit your fitness level. Working out is not just limited to a gym.

There are some great exercise alternatives to try whether you are a beginner or a seasoned athlete.

You may chose some exercise alternatives if you are recovering from an injury or illness or maybe you just want to add some variety into your workout routine. They are a great way to keep you motivated and avoid a fitness rut. It is a good idea to have some exercise alternatives in your repertoire to mix up your workout and keep you motivated.

Yoga is a great way to balance out a vigorous workout. The long flowing moves and soothing music can provide some much needed calm and serenity to your everyday life. Pilates is also a great option. You will work your core and feel the body in a different way.

If you are looking for a cardio challenge, try a boot camp workout. This is based on military drills that take you to different stations like push ups, sprints and skipping. Water fitness classes are another choice. The buoyancy of the water is easy on the joints and the water's resistance provides a great strength workout.

No matter which on you choice, make sure that you consult with your doctor before you begin any fitness program.

If you are currently active, you don't need to change your entire regime, you can just substitute one day a week for something new. So get moving, swimming and jumping!
