Yoga

The therapeutic and health benefits of yoga are excellent and numerous. No matter what fitness level you are at, you can use it or one of the popular variations of it in order to strengthen your core, muscles, flexibility and more. You can also do cardio yoga to help with your heart and increase your endurance, amongst other things.

Flexibility is one of the biggest benefits of incorporating yoga into your workout regimen. Your joints will get a great workout to the point that you will feel yourself being able to stretch much further and with less effort than you ever have. This increases your range of motion and allows for further building of lean muscle that will help you burn fat as well. Likewise, yoga helps with the flexibility of ligaments and tendons as well.

The organs of your body receive a massage of sorts when you do this type of movement. This is rumored to have an affect on how those organs function, and has been said to help reduce the risk of cancers associated with these organs. Though experts disagree as to whether this is true, they do agree that any type of exercise is good for your entire body, including your organs.

There are so many classes of this type to choose from that you may not know where to start. Consult with a staff member if you are having trouble deciding. Based on your fitness and flexibility level they can recommend the right level of class for you. And of course, if you are feeling shy you can always do the very basics at home using nothing but a sticky mat and a book of poses.
