Facilities

There are several types of workout facilities that offer memberships to the general public- gym and fitness center chains, independent clubs, corporate gyms and hotel gyms. Each of these facilities may have a lot of options while others may be limited.

Each one is unique and the Fit Map is ready to introduce you to each one.

Chain fitness centers or gyms are usually mega-facilities. They will offer a wide arrange of machines, bikes, free weights, classes and even extras like basketball courts and yoga rooms. They may have swimming pools, spas and steam rooms as well. Each set of facilities will be a little different according to the demand of the customers in that area, but for the most part you will find at least the basics plus plenty of extras.

Independent clubs are usually stand-alone centers that are independently and locally owned.

You might call it the gym around the corner. Though these are rare, they do exist and are very agreeable to some. Of course being a smaller center means less amenities and a smaller area, but to some these are good qualities.

Corporate gyms are usually private gyms that are only available to employees of certain companies or corporations. Though they are likely on-site at a company location, some may be located off-site in a building. The amenities vary from gym to gym.

Hotel gyms are just what they sound like- a gym inside a hotel. They vary vastly in what they offer- some are basic cardio and weight machines, while others are elaborate with racquetball courts and personal trainers.

No matter which type you want info on, the Fit Map is ready to arm you with the knowledge you desire about each of these gym types.
