Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the truth is, there's just no way to speed up fat burning in a safe and healthy way. Nutritionists and Dieticians tell us that no matter what we eat, it's impossible to lose more than 2lbs of fat in a week - if you lose any more, you're jeopardizing your health.

If a fad diet promises you weekly losses of greater than 2lbs, what you will be losing is fluid, through dehydration, and muscle tissue through malnutrition. Not only is this dangerous, but chances are, you'll regain whatever you've lost the moment you start eating more normally again.

So what is the quickest healthy way to lasting slimness? The secret is no secret at all - you have to change your eating habits. The key is that you have to take in fewer calories than you burn in a day, but this doesn't necessarily mean eating less - it just means eating differently. Include more fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet, and steer clear of processed foods which are high in sugar, salt and fat. Avoid or reduce your sugar intake - and this includes artificial sweetners.

Make sure you're getting all the required vitamins and minerals - if your body isn't properly nourished your metabolism will be slower and you won't burn as many calories. Drink plenty of water to flush out your system. And lastly, begin a moderate exercise program that will work with your dietary changes and help you to burn excess fat and calories. Stick with your diet plan, and you'll see the results you're looking for sooner than you think!
