Feng Shui explained

Feng Shui (pronounced "fung shway" is an ancient intuitive art.
Translated literally "Feng" means wind and "Shui" means water. From this description we begin to see its influences; both in nature and the elements and natural energy flows.

Balance
Perhaps the most important aspect of Feng Shui is balance. Both Ying and Yang must be present if you are to create harmony.

When can it be used?

The current trend is to use it when decorating a home or office. Outlined below are certain rules one must abide by if you are to create a comfortable and harmonious lifestyle.

  • Furniture should be arranged in a square or octagonal formation.
  • Furniture shouldn't face the fireplace - this will not lead to peaceful conversation.
  • Add music to a living room - creates energy and this will be dispersed throughout the home.
  • The living room should be designed with warm colours and feel-good fabrics.

Some key colours
There are key colours you should consider when working with Feng Shui. Below we have listing three main colours, although you may be pleased to know that there are more.

Red
Indicates Fire - Appreciate order, enjoy the rhyme of life and derive pride from pleasing others.

Yellow
Indicates Earth - Rich undertone of life fulfillment and enjoyment

Dark Green
Indicates Wood - Acting on impulse, trying new things, cheerful personality.
