Complexion & skin care

While the young take great skin for granted, the old yearn for it. Whether you've been lucky enough to have great skin your whole life or not, it's never too late to start taking better care of it.

Essential cleansing
Every day our skin's pores are clogged by pollution, airborne dirt and more, dulling it's appearance. In order to remove the dirt, bring it to the surface by performing this treatment:

Cover your neck and face with cleansing milk, then leave a hot flannel (excess water removed) over the area for 1 minute. As you remove the flannel, gently wipe the area in a circular motion. Then place a cold water flannel over the same area to close the pores and tone the skin.

Essential exfoliation
Exfoliation has two main purposes: it removes dead skin cells and improves blood circulation, allowing nutrients and moisture to travel to the surface.

Using your hands, warm up your pre-bought facial scrub, then rub it gently in slow circular motions around your neck and face. You can use cotton make-up remover pads or a clean, dry face cloth to aid the even application of the scrub.

Place your face over a pre-run steaming bath or sink to improve the amount of dirt lifted from your skin and promote a deeper cleanse.

Look to these five great hints for beautiful looking skin.
What if you are just looking for a simple 5 minute treatment?

1. For toned, fresh looking skin, place a cold wet face cloth over your face for up to 5 minutes.

2. Pluck your eyebrows with tweezers to shape them and add a fresh look to your eyes, instantly making you feel and look younger. 3. Complete a quick session of neck and facial exercises to boost circulation and tone up the muscles around the eyes, neck and cheeks.

4. Increase the amount of vitamins in your diet, as vitamins A, C and E are essential for healthy looking skin. A course of multivitamin tablets (available at most pharmacies and drug stores) are a good investment, if you unsure about the amount of vitamins in your diet.

5. Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day, or about 2 litres. This will keep your skin from looking tired and dried out from short or long term dehydration, as well as cleanse it from the inside out.
