Aerobic exercise

 

In short, aerobic exercise and fitness is what will make your everyday life simpler and more enjoyable. If you want to excel at any form of exercise, you need to improve your aerobic fitness. This refers to endurance or the ability to sustain work over long periods of time.

Aerobic exercise increases the amount of oxygen delivered to your muscles allowing you to work longer and harder. Working on your aerobic fitness will improve sports performance and assist you in everyday activities.

Your aerobic fitness level is dependence upon age and sex but can be improved with training. You should try and cardiovascular training for 30 minutes 3-5 times a week.

Aerobic fitness is also cumulative. This means you can exercise in spurts of 10 minutes to meet your weekly requirements. Progress into exercise slowly especially if you currently live a sedentary lifestyle. Make sure that you warm up before and cool down after each exercise session. There are countless forms of this type of exercise including swimming, walking, running, skipping, and cycling. Try as many types as you can to determine which ones you like the best then try and incorporate them into your training schedule.

You can also try to include more activity into your daily routine, Take the stairs instead of the elevator, go for a walk on your lunch break or play sports with your kids. The benefits of this type of exercise include more self esteem, weight loss, enhanced mood and increased blood supply to heart and lungs.
