Gym Rules

Each place you workout at will have their own version of gym rules. Some may tailor their rules to their particular center while others may keep it very basic.

But no matter where you workout, there are some universal gym rules that not only should you expect to see, but expect to follow as well.

Probably the biggest of the gym rules you will encounter would be to wipe down the equipment after you are done. This means that if you sweat at all, you should take a towel and wipe the machine down. As far as gym rules go, this is not only a must, it is a matter of common courtesy.

Nothing is more displeasing in a fitness center than wanting to use a machine full of someone else's sweat.

The next has to do with weights- make sure you rack them! This means if you are using free weights, you should not leave them where you worked out, but instead put them back where you got them from. Also, you should never drop weights, no matter how large or small. It can not only damage equipment but disrupt someone's workout as well.

Proper attire is a must. You should wear comfortable clothes that fit you well and don't expose anything they are not supposed to. Hygiene can also be added here- make sure your clothes are laundered and don't smell, and make sure you use deodorant as well.

Swearing and other disruptive practices should also be avoided out of courtesy. Anything that draws attention to you or can interrupt workouts or classes taking place should be avoided. You should go to a health club to workout, not show-off.

Follow these guidelines and you most likely will be the ideal club patron.
