Bikram Yoga

If you are looking for a way to cleanse your body then giving Bikram yoga a try is a good choice for you.

Bikram Yoga is performed in a heated room that is normally set at 105 degrees Fahrenheit or 40.5 degrees Celsius.

When attending a Bikram yoga class you will perform a series of twenty-six asana movements that are designed to stretch and warm up the body. You will help to loosen the muscle, tendons and ligaments so this is a great exercise to do in addition to your other training in the gym as it will greatly reduce your chances of injuries. Each class normally lasts about 90 minutes from start to end and you will go through the twenty-six poses a total of two times. It is very important that you keep them in proper sequence though as they are designed to loosen your body in the order it was meant to be.

Progress in this type of class is very variable and entirely dependant on the individual. Those who are willing to dedicate more time to the practice and really try to understand what they are trying to accomplish with each pose will see significant improvements in a shorter time span. There is not really any such thing as the perfect pose but rather one that works correctly for you.

Keep in mind that you will definitely want to have your own towel and mat for this class as you will be sweating a great deal and will want to always use proper personal hygiene both before and after. Additionally, most students wear very little clothing so that they are more comfortable while performing the movements.

One particular point to take note of however is that pregnant women should not partake in this class as it raises the body temperature so much and can be harmful to the baby. Everyone else, if following proper protocols, will greatly benefit from this type of exercise.
